The Easter Themed Activities were a lot of fun and the kids had a blast! They loved making Chickie Eggs, building toothpick towers, learning how to make unbreakable and rubber eggs and taking part in lots of center activities with plastic eggs.
Easter Themed Activities
Creative Space
Play dough, stamps, scissors, lacing beads and cards, puzzles and blocks are set out for the children to choose from, and get creative during this 30 minute period.
Easter Themed Circle Time
Every day during Circle Time we do the morning routine, which includes the Calendar and ‘Number, Color, Shape and Letter of the week’. We then read a story, sing a few songs and do a group activity.
On every Monday we change the ‘Classroom Helpers’ Classroom Jobs. Each child has a name card on a popsicle stick, and they get to choose their job of the week.
Easter Themed Circle Time Activities
Activity 1: Weekend News
Every Monday morning each child gets a chance to talk about their weekend and what they did. The children then draw a picture in the ‘weekend news’ journal, and the teacher writes down what they have said.
Activity 2: Where’s the Bunny?
What you need:
- Printable printed out, laminated and cut out
- A flat surface
How to complete the activity:
Cut out the pictures of the Easter Eggs and the Easter Bunny and laminate. During Circle Time put all the clouds face up in the middle of the circle. Ask the children to turn around or close their eyes. Hide the bunny under an egg. Children take turns guessing under which numbered egg the bunny is. The child gets to keep the egg if guessed correctly. Hide the bunny again. Continue until all eggs are gone.
Activity 3: Spring & Easter Yoga for kids
Activity 4: Where’s the Easter Egg?
Cut out and laminate the egg. Ask the children to close their eyes and hide it somewhere in the room or garden. When children open their eyes, they must guess where the egg is through asking questions. Teacher responds with, ‘That is close, but maybe a little to the left, right etc.’

Easter Themed Literacy Activities
Center 1: Easter Egg Upper & Lower Case Matching
What you need:
- 26 Plastic Eggs
- Dot Stickers
- A permanent marker
- Recording sheet printed out and copied (1 per child)
How to use this resource:
Write uppercase and lowercase letters on the egg halves. Children find matching egg halves, put the eggs together, and write the letters on their recording sheets.
Center 2: Easter Egg CVC Words
In the video, I wrote the CVC words on the eggs with a permanent marker, but that did not work very well as it still came off. Another way to do this is to put pictures of CVC words along with letters inside the eggs. The children pick an egg, find the picture, put the letters together to spell the CVC word, and write the word on their recording sheet.
Activity: Easter Egg Hunt
Hide Plastic Easter Eggs in the garden. Children look around and find as many as possible When you get back to the class, children choose a coloring picture and color it.

Easter Themed Math Activities
Center 1: Easter Egg Addition
Draw dots on the egg halves. Children choose 2 egg halves, put the egg together, count the number of dots, write and solve the problem on their recording pages.
Center 2: Number Words
Write the number word on one half of the egg and the number on the other half. Children find the matching egg halves, put the eggs together, and write the number and/or number word on their pages.
Center 3: Plastic Beads Patterns
Fill some plastic eggs up with different colored plastic beads. Hand out the eggs and the patterns recording sheets to the children. The children opens the plastic eggs and use the colored beads to create their own patterns.
Center 4: Easter Egg Graphing
This activity works almost the same as center 3, except the children separate the colored beads and complete the graph as shown in the picture.
