All About Apples Activities

What you’ll need:
1. All About Apples Printable
2. Coloring Pencils/ markers/ crayons
3. Glue
4. Cotton wool
5. Leaves
6. Green and pink construction paper
7. Brown, yellow and red paint
Activity 1: Apple graph laugh! Sensory Bin Activity

Cut out the pictures, laminate and hide in sensory bin with leaves, sticks and sand. Children take turns to find the pictures. Give each child 4 turns. Children count and record what they have found and then complete the graph.

Activity 2: Ten Apples Up on Top Sequencing

How to use this resource:
Cut out the pictures and paste on the numbers worksheet to sequence and re-tell ‘Ten apples up on top’ by Dr. Suess. The order is as follows:
1 – One, two, apples up on top,
2 – Three, four, apples up on top,
3 – Five apples up on top,
4 – Six, seven apples up on top,
5 – Eight apples up on top while skating,
6 – Nine apples up on top while drinking milk,
7 – Ten apples up on top,
8 – A bear with a mop said, ‘Get Lost!’,
9 – They want the apples too!,
10 – Nobody can stop our apple fun.,
11 – Then, ‘Boom! Crash!’. Apples gone!
Activity 3: Five Senses Investigation

How to use this resource:
Print out the activity sheet with the colored pictures on an A3 paper. Laminate. During Morning Meeting or Center time, cut up some apples and ask the children to investigate it using their eyes, ears, tongue, nose and hands. Brainstorm some adjectives to record their findings and write these down wit a whiteboard marker. Hand out the activity sheets. Children cut out the adjectives and paste them under the correct heading.
Activity 4: Seasons of an Apple Tree Craft

How to use this resource:
Print out and copy the activity sheets. Children use different colored construction paper to decorate the trees.
Activity 5: Ten Apples Up on Top Apple Counting

Print out and copy the activity sheets. Children cut out the apples and paste them in the correct order. The bigger pictures can be laminated for re-use as a center activity, or during Morning Meeting Time.
Activity 6: Parts of an Apple Cut-and-paste

Print out and copy the activity sheets. Children cut out the words and paste them in the correct spaces to label the parts of the apple.
Activity 7: Beginning Sounds Apple Match

Print out the activity sheets and laminate. Cut the pictures of the apples out, then cut on the white line of each. During Center time, children match the beginning sounds to the correct pictures.
Activity 8: Life Cycle of an Apple Accordion Book & cut-and-paste

Accordion Book: Print out and copy the activity sheets. Children color the pictures of the life cycle of an apple then cut around the outside of it. Fold into an accordion. Color and cut out the two halves of the apple picture. Glue the accordion book to the two halves of the apple.
