We all really enjoyed learning about Farm Animals – making 2D shapes with playdough, feeding a cow, making bouncy eggs, building animal homes and measuring animals. The Farm Animals Themed Math Activity Sheets are great for developing young learners’ counting, one-on-one correspondence, comparing, extending patterns & fine-motor skills.
Farm Animals Themed Math Activity Sheets
What you need:
- Math activity sheets printed out and copied
- Scissors
- Glue
- Coloring pencils/ markers/ crayons
How to complete the activity:
Activity Sheet 1 – Extending Patterns
Demonstrate creating patterns with the children by using beads. Ask the children to think of examples of patterns in our everyday lives (i.e.. stripey socks). Hand out the activity sheets and ask the children to cut the pictures out at the bottom of the page and to extend the patterns by gluing the pictures in the spaces provided.
Activity Sheet 2 – Count & Color
Ask the children to count the pictures of all the farm animals, by drawing a line through each, then to record the numbers in the spaces provided.
Activity Sheet 3 – Count & Compare
The children count all the pictures of the farm animals in each row, then color the same number of farm animals as asked in the instructions.
