Activity 1: Family Handprints Measuring
What you need:
- Banner with family members handprints traced on
- Cubes
- Markers
How to complete the activity:
Send a banner home with a note to the parents asking them to trace all their family members hands. When the children bring the banners in, draw a line at the bottom of each family members hand and one at the top. Demonstrate how to measure the length of the hand with cubes, by placing the first one at the bottom line. Children measure the length of the hands on their banners and write the correct number to each hand.
