Where The Wild Things Are Activities

What you’ll need:
- Where the Wild Things are Printable
- Coloring Pencils/ markers
- Scissors
- Glue
Activity 1: Sequencing

Cut out the pictures and paste on the numbers worksheet to sequence and re-tell ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. The order is as follows: 1. Max got sent to his room, 2. A forest grew in his room, 3. The ocean and a boat appeared, 4. Max sailed to where the wild things are, 5. They roared their terrible roars, 6. Max used a magic trick to silence them, 7. The Wild Things made Max their king, 8. They had a wild rumpus, 9. Max returned home.
Activity 2: Craftivity

How to use this resource:
Print out and copy the activity sheets. Hand these out to the children. Children cut the different parts, then assemble. Once they’ve assembled the craft, they choose a writing prompt, draw a picture, then write about it.
Activity 3: I Spy Graphing

How to use this resource:
Count the pictures on the ‘I Spy’ Sheet’. Color the correct number of blocks on the graph. Compare.
Activity 4: 2D Shapes Glyph

How to use this resource:
Print out and copy the activity sheets. Hand these out to the children. Children find all the shapes, color them, then record the number in the space provided.
Activity 5: Speech Prompts

Cut out and laminate the cards. During Meeting time, ask volunteers to choose a card, then read it out loud and ask children to answer the questions.
Activity 6: Dice Game

Cut out and assemble the dice. Each child in the group gets a ‘Dino Graph’ activity sheet. Children take turns throwing the dice. Everyone colors 1 block above the dinosaur the dice lands on. When the time is over, count and compare.
