‘Feed the Cow!’ Math Center

Cut out the face of the cow and paste onto an old shoebox. Cut a hole for the mouth. The children then use the addition cards to see how many ‘counters’ they will need to feed the cow e.g. ‘1 + 9 =‘. Students take one counter and place it in the box provided on the recording sheet. They then take 9 counters and put it in the text box provided. Now they can finally ‘feed’ the cow with the counters while counting out loud. They will then need to write how many counters there were all together in the box provided.
