Literacy Centers & Printables

Literacy Skills in the Early Years classrooms are developed by continually exposing children to oral and written language. Pictures, play, and the printed word combine with oral language to help young children understand the symbolic representation that underlies reading and writing.

Early literacy skills include Vocabulary, Print Motivation, Print Awareness, Narrative Skills, Letter Knowledge, and Phonological Awareness. These important foundational skills are the building blocks for learning to read and write.
