  • Color pencils, markers/ crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to use this resource:

After reading the story, ask the children to re-tell the story, using the picture cards. Hand out the activity sheets. Now ask the children to color all the pictures on it. When they are done, children cut out the pictures and paste them in the correct order on the sequencing sheet.

How to use this resource:

This activity can be completed individually, in pairs or in small groups as a center activity.

Hand out the activity sheets. Place the 2D Shapes Cards somewhere where it is visible to all the children. The children count all the shapes, color in the pictograph and then compare it.

How to use this resource:

Print out the craft activity sheets. Children cut out all the parts, then put it together to make their very own little ‘Corduroy friend’.

How to use this resource:

Read the story or watch the read-aloud on YouTube. Talk about the characters (Lisa & Corduroy), the setting (the department store), the problem (Corduroy needs a button) and the solution (Corduroy finds a button on the mattress). Hand out the activity sheets. Children cut the pictures out and paste it in the correct blocks.

How to use this resource:

Ask children to bring in their favorite soft toys. Children talk about their soft toys during a ‘Show-and-Tell’ or a morning meeting. Hand out the activity sheets. Children draw their favorite soft toys, then write about it using adjectives. Assemble all the activity sheets into a class book, then read it back to the children.
