If you are looking for an engaging and hands-on printable activity to the book It Looked Like Spilt Milk, you are in luck! I have not yet come across a young child that does not absolutely adore this story. The repetitive sentences make it easy for children to read along while having tons of fun.
This activity is great for improving your young learner’s speaking skills. It will also develop their fine-motor and visual discriminations skills.
It Looked Like Spilt Milk Printable
What you’ll need:
- White Washable Tempera Paint
- Cotton Wool
- Dark blue B3 sized paper (one per child)
- Glue
How to use this resource:
Read ‘It Looked Like Spilt Milk’ or watch the read aloud on YouTube here. Ask the children if they have ever looked at the clouds and noticed that sometimes the clouds look like something else.
Give each student a B3 size piece of dark blue construction paper. Ask them what their cloud will look like and then draw the outline using a pencil.
Children use cotton wool and white paint to dab into these outlines.
When the pictures are dry, paste these pictures onto the class book pages, trace whatever they painted so that they can write it down and assemble it into a class book.
The children can now ‘read’ the book all by themselves!
